Kobe or LeBron

This has been the question for the last couple of seasons, I will tackle this quandary in this post. Kobe is on the verge of his 6th ring while LeBron is trying to get his first. LeBron has already won a couple of MVP trophies and has continued to tantalize us with his breathtaking forays to the basket. Kobe is known as the game's premier "Closer," there isn't a shot he won't take that he hasn't made before. Kobe is a technician in the art of getting your shot off, no matter the place on the court or the number of defenders he WILL get his shot off. Kevin Durant led the league in scoring last year and people have tried to throw his name into this discussion, Durant is however easily dismissed from this conversation because of his youth. As much as I would like to answer this question I have to stay honest to myself, my choice is Dwayne Wade. D-Wade is ALWAYS omitted when this question is presented, I really don't understand how! Why is LeBron aloud to be in this conversation when he hasn't won A championship yet? LeBron does have 2 MVP's though, but Wade has one NBA FINALS MVP!! Doesn't that make him as eligible or even a better candidate than LeBron when compared to Kobe? I respect all 3 of these players, but my personal choice remains Dwayne Wade. Wade is virtually unguardable, he is one of the only people in the league TODAY whose focus intensifies when he's upset. I know a few of you are going to be upset with me, but when Kobe or LeBron gets upset it kind of takes them out of their game. I'm not talking about agitated, I'm talking about MAD or PISSED. Wade has a Jordan-esque way of taking his anger out on his opponent instead of just being angry. When Wade is in this zone, he is UNSTOPPABLE!! Now by no way am I saying that Kobe or LeBron don't have moments when they get hot or get into a zone, all I am saying is that they can't play MAD. If I were to go into all of my reasons for selecting him it would take quite a while, but I would like to ask you why Wade's name is always omitted??

The 49ers Future

The 49ers just fired their coach, next up time to find a GM. I am proud that the Owner finally realized that HE might have been a problem last time the team went through this process. In 2005 the 49ers went about hiring a staff backwards, all of this was done with out a GM. As many of you know teams can suffer when Owners take too much control, we have outstanding examples of ownership gone wrong in Dallas and Washington. The Cowboys and the Redskins both have owners who wont STAY out of the way of the people they HIRED, why not let the people do THEIR jobs?? I'm extremely happy that Mr. York has stumbled upon this revelation, the team will be better going forward. They are currently searching and interviewing GM candidates, my vote goes to Trent Balke who was in charge of personnel but not the GM. Balke pretty much ran last years draft, I think he did a very good job. What needs to happen next is for the GM to find a coach who can unlock all of the talent on this roster, the 49ers have many weapons on both offense and defense the key is to UTILIZE them correctly. The QB position and the secondary need to be addressed in the draft, specifically the cornerback position. The 49ers have a colection of talented safeties, they now need the playmakers at corner. There are good corners in this year's draft class, we will have a better idea once the college season comes to a close and we know which underclassmen are declaring. I strongly believe that Heisman winner Cam Newton will be available when the 49ers pick, I hope they realize what a talent he is and not let him pass in favor of another QB. The only QB I would pass on Cam Newton for is Andrew Luck and they won't be picking high enough to select Luck. Who do you think will become the next coach of the 49ers??

Christmas Day Double Standard...

Christmas Day ended sadly for the Lakers, what saddens me more is the free "OUT" they're being given. Had LA showed up and throttled the Heat everyone would be attacking Miami, since the Lakers got throttled people are saying it's early and it's only one game. If you want to belive that no problem, a true way to see if that was really the case is to look at Kobe Bryant's reaction. Kobe was PISSED, as the entire Laker's orginaztion and their fans SHOULD be. I don't buy all this we can "turn the switch" on when it's needed, I respect what the Lakers have done the past 2 seasons. Their problems this year are not things that can be fixed, they are OLD and SLOW. They can no longer beat teams the same way they have in the past, they need to be more like the Celtics and just "OUT EXCECUTE" teams!! Kobe is not getting any younger, yes he's still the best player in the game. The problem is that Miami has 2a and 2b, yesterday Kobe looked like he didn't have enough help. It didn't help matters that Wade was able to give him fits defensively which allowed LeBron and Chris Bosh to double when needed. The Heat ran a defensive CLINIC on the Lakers, they need to be given their credit for what they did. Maybe people don't want to say it out loud, but LA needs to hit the panic button!! They are now looking up at several teams in the standings and their record against winning teams isn't looking too good. I just don't understand why the Lakers are being giving a FREE pass, can someone explain that to me or at least TRY??

This is Punishment??

So 5 Ohio St. players got suspended for 5 games NEXT year, they are allowed to play in this year's Sugar Bowl though. They "broke" the rules, but where's the real punishment? I believe all 5 players are draft eligible, so if you were them would come back to serve the suspension or go to the NFL and get PAID?? College Football is a JOKE, it's like the NCAA wants to say they care about rules with the only exception being when money is involved. So they can make sure that both schools and the NCAA makes money from the Sugar Bowl the kids are allowed to play? If you KNOW they are draft eligible why give the players an out, the other option is only getting a chance to get PAID for what you do!! Secondly how can the NCAA decide what a player can do with what they win, last time I checked isn't it the player's property?? So if I understand this correctly a player cannot sell HIS own property, but the player's SCHOOL can?? Am I the only one that's lost here?? The NCAA should be ashamed of itself and once again it proves why there will NEVER be a playoff in college football, the rich want to keep getting RICHER!! Why wasn't the school punished in any way, not in this case or at Georgia when AJ Green allegedly sold his jersey?? Yet the school is allowed to AUCTION off any player's property, maybe it's just me but it almost seems as if the NCAA and the Schools OWN the players??

6 Player Deal goes down in MLB

This has been a big weekend in the sports world in terms of transactions, after the big NBA trades baseball didn't want to be left out. There was a 6 player deal done between the Royals and the Brewers, Zach Greinke was the headliner in this deal. The Brewers recieved Mr. Greinke and Yuneisky Betancourt. The Royals got Alciedes Escobar, Lorenzo Cain, Jake Odorizzi, and Jeremy Jeffress. It looks like the Brewers are trying to compete this year, they now have another ace in Greinke and hopefully they will be successful enough to keep Mr. Prince Fielder around. The Royals did a good job in what they got in return, landing Escobar and top pitching prospect Odorizzi. They had to get rid of Greinke, otherwise they would have faced a situation much like the Brewers will be facing with Prince Fielder. Let him walk, or get something for him in terms of a trade? Who do you think got the best of this trade? Will Greinke succeed in the National League??

Uconn Women Win their 88th Straight!!

The Uconn Huskies Women's Basketball team just won their 88th straight game, their 88th!! They have now tied the UCLA Men's record of 88 straight wins by the legendary Coach John Wooden. The Huskies won today's game in their usual fashion, via blowout. Uconn routed the 10th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes 81-50, Uconn Coach Geno Auriemma said the only reason people care about his record is because it's a women's team attempting to break a mens team record. I think Geno has a point, I mean would YOU care about this record if it wasn't John Wooden's?? Uconn gets a chance to break the record Tuesday night at home against Florida State, the Seminoles are the 14th ranked team in the country. If Uconn wins, this might be a record that will never be broken. Do you think the Huskies will break the record, and if so how much will they win by?? Do you think Geno has a point??

Orlando Making Moves

The Orlando Magic decided it was time to stop watching transactions happen in the league and partake in them! Orlando just traded Vince Carter, Micheal Pietrus, and Martin Gortat for Hedo Turkoglu, Earl Clark, and Jason Richardson. They are also to have been said to be in talks with the Wizards about trading Rashard Lewis for Gilbert Arenas straight up. I don't know what Orlando was thinking as of yet, maybe they think these new players will help them compete better with Boston and LA. I don't really see as to how, all they did was trade a couple shooters for another couple of shooters. They didn't get any tougher defensively and this may actually HURT Dwight Howard more than help him, now you have more gunners on the team. Secondly if they acquire Gilber Arenas does he play the 1 or the 2, if he plays the 2 do you move Richardson to the 3?? If so your starting lineup just became smarter? Only time will tell, but do you think this moves make Orlando better or just the same with new faces??

Where's Melo Going??

So as of today Carmelo Anthony says that he is NOT going to sign an extension with the Denver Nuggets. It has been said that Melo will only sign an extension with....THE NEW YORK KNICKS!! As a Knick fan, I can't contain my excitement! The problem is that it's up to the Nuggets whether to trade him or not. The positive part for Melo and maybe not so positive part for the Nuggets, Melo WILL be an Unrestricted Free Agent at the end of THIS season. So do you trade him or let him walk for nothing? The Knicks will go from a nice story with their level of play this year to a contender next year with the addition of Melo. Amare Stoudamire did say he was going to bring help, no one ever thought it would be this soon. If you were the Nuggets what do you do? As Carmelo Anthony, do you PUSH for the trade now or wait until Free Agency??

Newton Wins the Heisman...Suprised??

Cameron Newton won the prestigious Heisman Trophy earlier this evening, he did so in deciding fashion!! Newton was 1st on 93% of the ballots that had HIS name on them, there were 105 ballots that did not include his name. I'm not sure what to make of that, obviously I'm not privy to the Heisman Trust "rules" and I think that it's ridiculous that you have the option to omit a player's name. Cam had an outstanding year, one thing I didn't like about the Heisman show was how certain "hosts/analysts" did their best to remind everybody of Cam's issues. Obviously we all know what the allegations are, why can't you let it stay where it is for one night? It's not fair to the young man, I did like how Cam carried himself throughout the night. Do you think the right player won the award? Should it be mandatory for all finalists to be on EVERY ballot?? Who do you think will be the better NFL player out of tonight's finalists (Newton, Luck, James, & Moore)??

Week 14 College Football Recap

Week 13 NFL Recap

Fat Albert vs D.C.

So the Skins and Mr.Haynesworth are at it again, this time Albert will be suspended for the remainder of the season. I just don't understand why he's still here? If you didn't like the guy in pre-season, what made you think it was going to change Mr. Shannahan?? Mr. Snyder, you should just take it as a loss and cut him now because either way the man got PAID. So instead of just releasing him so he goes to a team of his liking, you'd rather keep him for the remainder of the season and then cut him??
Or do you really think a team is going to try to trade for him, because if that's the case you've already killed your leverage!! WE all know that neither he or you (the organization) wants him here, so why would someone trade for damaged goods?? The sad thing is that if you had traded him earlier in the year instead of trying to flex your Head Coaching muscles, you'd at least be looking forward to an additional draft pick. Now that doesn't look so promising, now the player got paid and is on the verge of getting what he wants in terms of being off this team. Which leaves the Redskins with nothing in return, was it worth it?? Keeping him here in D.C this season, was it worth it Mr. Snyder and Mr. Shannahan?? Will Haynesworth finish the season out as a Redskin or will they just cut him?? Do you think they will be able to get anything in return for him in a trade? Or will he just be rewarded by being cut after the season is over?

The NFL's Double Standard...

So obviously we are all aware of the NFL's new "safety" programs and "concerns," I don't really care for them but there are 2 players that have suffered from them. The 2 players I speak of are James Harrison of the Steelers and Michael Vick of the Eagles. Steelers outside LB James Harrison is one of the hardest hitters in the league, he has been fined excessively this year for hits that are "illegal." What bothers me about these so called "illegal" hits are that out of all of the fines only one of the hits has resulted in a yellow flag being thrown. He hasn't been ejected from any games, nor have the refs deemed these hits dirty or excessive roughness. All of these fines are levied AFTER games are played, so how is it that these "illegal" hits aren't being flagged WHEN they supposedly occur?? The NFL has given defenders a target zone for QB's, well Harrison makes sure that his hits are in set "target zone" and yet he still gets fined!! So what I take from this is that you can hit the QB, just not hard?? Or can you hit the QB if you're not James Harrsion?? Ben Rothelisburger got punched by Richard Seymour, Seymour got ejected and than fined but only a fraction of the price to which Harrison gets charged. Andre Johnson and Courtland Finnegan got into an actual FIST-FIGHT and all that happened was that both players got fined the same amount as Seymour: $25,000. Harrison has already been fined a total of $125,000 this season, there's a lot more football left!! What do you think of Harrison's issue with the fines, is it legit?? Do you view him as a dirty player, or is he being wrongly targeted??

Now this is one that I just can't understand, this is about a player who plays the position the League has gone out it's way to protect. Michael Vick has gotten hit below the supposed "target zone" all season, I have even heard a commentator say "that's what you have to do to Vick, make him pay for standing in the pocket!" REALLY....so how is that allowed when no one says that about the other marquee QB's in the league?? If you push Manning, Brady, Ryan, or Sanchez down without helping them up it's almost a guaranteed flag!! You can't go low on the QB PERIOD, why is it okay to hit Vick routinely in this fashion?? What makes him different than other QB's?? The worst part is that these illegal hits happen in the POCKET!!! We all know that Vick is a problem once he leaves the pocket, well when he's in the pocket how do you miss these foul hits (refs) ?? I just want to know why it's okay, he's the only elite QB that is ALLOWED to get hit like that. I've even heard analysts say that the best way to slow down Vick is "to hit him early and often", last time I checked wouldn't those other QB's be slowed if they were to get blasted the way Vick is allowed to get hit?? What do you think of Vick being allowed to get hit low as a QB?? Is there a different set of rules for MOBILE QBs??

The "Debacle".....

I cannot believe how much hype was placed on the Cleveland-Miami game last night, for the past 72 hours all that was on any site or sports channel was more talk about the "Return." Seriously??? We've made it through the "Decision," now we've made it through the "Return", and I am declaring the debacle that was last night's game the "Blowout!" I enjoyed every minute of last night's game, I have been enjoying this Cleveland-LeBron beef since free agency started. Everyone knew it was going to happen, who really thought he was going to stay in Cleveland?? Mr. James proved his point last night, his new teammates provided the kind of support that wasn't possible by his former teammates. What player wearing a Cavaliers uniform in the past 7 years was going to give LeBron 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists in 3 quarters of work as support to the cause?? He never had that kind of teammate, I'm not a LeBron fan nor do I have anything against the guy, but if you were him wouldn't you run out of Cleveland to go play with Dwayne Wade? Think about this for a moment, in last night's game the double teams were being run at Wade!! LeBron didn't get the double teams sent his way until Wade and Bosh were on the bench!! Speaking of Bosh, he isn't exactly Anderson Varajeao!! You can actually give Bosh the ball and let him work, that wasn't truly an option for LeBron during the 7 years in Cleveland. What post presence did they have, honestly the best one was Big Z and he left with LeBron!! The people of Cleveland should be ashamed of themselves, if you were really fans than yesterday shouldn't have been the only game that actually looked like it sold out!! Why wait to fill the building only 2 times a season, that's as many times as LeBron is going to be in the Q a year. For everything the kid gave you for 7 years, would it have been too much to at least not boo during the introductions?? How about even giving him some love or an ovation during the introductions for the good times that were shared with each other?? I had no problem with booing him after tip off, he's on the opposite team. I hope that what happened to the Cavs last night gave them some closure, or at least helped them to realize that there should be closure because LeBron isn't looking at the past. His new "family" supported him in throttling his former 'family" to the tune of 118-90, LeBron didn't miss out on anything he just shouldn't have declared his leaving in that terrible way ( the "Decision"). What did you all think about last night's game?? Is LeBron better off in Miami, or do you still think he could have won a chip in Cleveland had he stayed??

"I'll Never Get Over It"

Yesterday up and coming big play wideout for the Buffalo Bills Steve Johnson dropped the would be game winning TD catch, he beat double coverage rather easily and just dropped it!! The Steelers went on to win in overtime, but I'm sure many of you have seen the post game conference. Stevie Johnson manned up, he didn't blame anybody but himself for that devastating drop. In fact he is taking it the way great players do, taking ALL acountibility and vows not to forget it. Surely that means this devastating moment will serve as motivation to the young wideout!! Johnson had 5 drops in yesterday's game, prior to yesterday Johnson had been in the middle of a break out season as a former 7th round pick!! Johnson has 59 catches for 796 yards this season and 9 TD's, had he made that catch yesterday it would have been his 10th TD catch leaving him 1 short of the Bills record for TD catches. Johnson is a force to be reckoned with, it was just amazing to see a player actually show that raw emotion in front of the media. Johnson is on his way to becoming an elite reciever, hopefully he remembers this day and moment and never truly gets over it and holds on to each pass as if it's his last. Johnson vowed to never get over it, and I vow to continue to be a Steve Johnson fan. What did you think of the Bills young WR?? Will this haunt him or fuel him to become an elite reciever??

84 and Counting

Keep an eye on the Uconn Women's team, after disposing of LSU this weekend they have won 84 games in a row!!. 4 more wins brings them to a tie with John Wooden's UCLA team, 5 more wins makes them immortal. Maya Moore had a double-double yesterday (26 points & 12 rebounds), that puts Moore in an elite category of Uconn Basketball History. Moore is the 3rd player to have 2 thousand points and 1 thousand rebounds, Moore's 26 points yesterday aslo put her only 22 points behind the school's all time leading scorer in Tina Charles! If everything goes right the Lady Huskies will tie history with a win against Ohio State, to beat the record they will have to beat Pacific University. Do you think they will beat or tie the record?? Will they crack under the pressure, and at what number of games will the streak stop?? Keep in mind they play Stanford December 30th!!

Return of the "Slouch" Revis vs T.O. part 2

So the Jets play the Bengals tommorrow night, as many of you know a Mr. Darelle Revis referred to a certain Mr. Randy Moss and Mr. Terrell Owens as "Slouches." Revis was pegged as the best DB in the NFL after last year's season, now that he's gotten a chance to get healthy much of it due to his bad hammy and lack of conditioning after the hold out Revis has returned to his normal level of play. Just recently Revis has handcuffed both Andre Johnson and Calvin Johnson, Revis held T.O. to 6 receptions for 44 yards in 2 games agains the Bills last year. I don't want to leave this out, Revis was flagged for 4 pass interfrence calls against Owens, so maybe Owens does have a point. Well T.O. says this isn't last year and has gone on record calling Revis an "average" corner when asked who were the toughest DB's he's faced during the course of his career. It's a new year indeed as T.O. has returned to his former level of play this year with the Bengals, for the season has 62 catches for 897 yards and 8 TD's. Last year with the Bills Owens could only muster 55 catches for 829 yards and 5 TD's, T.O. is ready for his rematch with Revis. Will T.O.'s return to "Revis Island" be a successful one, or will he fall to the same fate as Andre and Calvin Johnson?? Is Revis the best DB in the league?

What's wrong with the Heat??

The Miami Heat are currently in 2nd place in their division with an 8-6 record, they are exactly 1.5 games back of the division leading Orlando Magic. Many people are already poking fun at the Heat and calling this experiment a failure after 14 games, the Heat also have a point differential of +7.9 which is tops in the Eastern Conference and 3rd best in the NBA. So even with all of their "issues" the Heat are doing pretty good. I think most expected the "Big 3" to have instant chemistry, that is not the case because of the different type of skill sets they bring to the table. In Wade you have a "combo" guard that has the athleticism of an NBA small forward, LeBron has the body of a power forward with the court vision of a PG, and maybe the hardest to intergrate will be Bosh because he is a classic "stretch 4. Wade and James have very similar skill sets from the way they look at the floor, to the way they attack the basket, and that's what makes it hard to utilize Bosh. Bosh can operate out of the post, but he is best at the elbow where he can face up his man and choose how to attack him. LeBron is getting used to his new position which is essentially PG, but that won't be comfortable for him until Mike Miller gets back. Can you compare this "Big 3" to Bostons? Honestly NO, Boston's "Big 3" is more of a conventional one. Ray is the shooter, Paul is the slasher, and KG is always paired with a conventional big which allows him to roam the perimiter for the pick-and-pop. The other difference between the two groups is the age of when they were put together, in Miami's case they are all about to enter their primes and aren't exactly sure as to what roles they have. In Boston's case, it was put together closer to the end of their careers so they knew and accepted their roles going into it. Mark my words, when Miami figures it out they will be the toughest out in the playoffs. It's just a matter of time if you ask me. Are the Heat going to be a contender this year, or is this year already out of the question for them in terms of competing for a championship? Will Miami get it together before the end of the season? What do YOU think the problem with Miami is??

Your Pick: Crosby, Ovechkin, or.....Stamkos??

This is the first time this question might have a different option, usually the fight is over who likes Crosby or Ovie better. I will take pride in playing devil's advocate here because this year's Point Leader in the NHL is neither Crosby or Ovechkin. This year's leading goal scorer isn't either of the two phenoms who everyone either loves or hates. At this point in the season, as has been the case since the start of the season the player who is at the top of the Points and Goals board is Steven Stamkos. Stamkos is a 3rd year player for the Tampa Bay Lightning, at only 20 years old he is quickly becoming one of the NHL's best players. Stamkos leads the NHL in points with 35, he is the league's leading goal scorer with 20. I'm not sure how many people have heard of this young man prior to this year, but is definitely on his way to being a house hold name. In his rookie year Stamkos had 23 goals and 23 assists, in 79 games he tallied 46 points. He improved in all areas by his sophomore campaign as his goal tally grew to 51, he also had 44 assists and finished the season with 95 points. In the 21 games played this year Stamkos has 20 goals and 15 assists, that has translated to 35 points. This is already his total after JUST 21 games, imagine what he's going to finish the year with!! Just for the record I am an Ovechkin fan, yet I believe this kid's play demands for his name to be thrown into the conversation. I don't like him better than Ovie or Crosby yet, but I definitely think he's more than on his way. Is Stamkos as good as his numbers or is he just getting lucky?? Does Stamkos deserve to be mentioned in the company of Crosby or Ovechkin, or is it premature to suggest it??

Weekly NFL Recap..

Weekly College Football Recap...

Sunken Ship...

The Vikings fired Brad Childress yesterday, I think that is something that should have been done 2 years ago. I've never thought of him to be a decent coach ever, I didn't like him in Philly and I think this firing came way to late. Childress cost the Vikes a 3rd round pick, that 3rd round pick might become more and more valuable now that their record is where it is. Childress is one of those people or coaches rather, that don't take criticism or other people's ideas well. Favre has criticized his offensive philosophy many times, Moss was ousted because he had thoughts on the philosophy as well. If Moss doesn't believe in what you're preaching he's not going to behave. Childress believes his way IS the way, and any other suggestion is terribly wrong and off base. If you owned the Vikings and you knew that Favre and Childress hated each other's guts, why bring Favre back if you still had Childress?? I am by no means a Brett Favre fan, supporter, or advocate. You had to have seen this coming, they've taken shots at each other through the media more than a couple times now. This ship was bound to go down, it must stink as the owner knowing that not only have you lost a 3rd round pick but Favre might be done as well!! Thank you Brad Childress, for single handedly "coaching" an extremely talented team into the ground!! Do you feel that the Vikings made the right move?? Did it come way too late?? Who will the Vikings have as head coach next season??

Don't take it personal, it's BUSINESS!!

I hate to be the one to say this, it really does pain me a little. Yet, at the end of the day I understand what will happen when you fight. I have been a Yankee fan all my life, I will continue to be one until I leave this earth, and even then I will love the organization. When dealing with the Yankees there is a rule to live by, here it is so read this carefully: NO ONE IS BIGGER THAN THE ORGANIZATION, NO ONE!! Mr. Jeter you have been the face of the Yankees for many many years now, unfortunately you are at the stage of your career where you are no longer a LOCK to be here. It would be nice for you to finish up your time as a New York Yankee, we (the Yankee faithful) will remember you as you were not as you are for all of the things you did and not all of the things you can no longer do. Please tell your agent to get over himself and realize that this isn't 10 years ago, this isn't George you're dealing with, if you keep pushing you will be left out in the cold. I hate to break this to you, but what other team in baseball would pay for you current talents at your current asking price?? The 20 or 21 million that the Yankees are offering you is at least 5 to 10 million more than what you're worth. Matter of fact let's take a look at history, can you remember the last great Yankee that finished his career out with the Yankees? Let me be more pointed, can you remember the last great Yankee who was asking for more than what he was worth in his twilight years? No offense to you Mr. Jeter, but the same thing was done to many of the greats before you ( Ruth, Mantle, Ford, Berra). Please do the right thing and take the offer, don't finish your career out somewhere else where you will be treated who you are NOW rather than who you WERE!! You've had an illustrious career here in New York Mr. Jeter, don't let pride tarnish your legacy. There is one thing I know, no one is bigger than the Yankees, NO ONE!! Please don't find out the hard way, if the Yanks could go back in time and renege on the length of A-Rod's contract they would, so don't take it personal and just take the money!! Do you think Jeter is worth more than 20 million, what do you think he's worth? Is he better than your current short stop on your favorite team??

And the 2010 NFL MVP Goes to....

Drumroll please........MICHAEL VICK!!! Seriously did you have another candidate, I really would like to know if there are any because I can't think of one that should be mentioned in the same breath as him. Vick's QB Rating is 115.1 for the year, the next closest QB is David Garrard at 104.9!! I'm going to let you do the math, matter of fact I'll help...it's not even CLOSE!! He has yet to throw an interception, he's only been sacked 15 times and think about how often Kolb got sacked when he played behind them. Vick made the Eagles more dangerous than they could have ever been under the watch of Kolb or McNabb, this offense was never THIS explosive before he was handed the controls. The Eagles are averaging 400 yards of offense a game under Vick which is 3rd best in the league, last year the Eagles averaged 357 yds a game and were ranked 11th in offense. Vick also has the Eagles one-tenth (1/10) of a point behind the highest scoring team in the league, New England is averaging 28.7 points a game and the Eagles are averaging 28.6 points a game. Last year the Eagles were 5th in points scored with 26.8 points a game, that means that Vick has defintely boosted their offense. Vick hasn't done all of his damage in the air, even though his numbers accumulated through the air are impressive. Vick has been just as much of a threat on the ground, Vick has 4 rushing TD's and has only fumbled once. What might be more impressive is 5 runs for at least 20 yards or more, another part of his game that has absolutely frustrated defensive coaches has been his ability to run for 1st downs and he has 20 of those to his credit!! Just to give you an idea of what he's done on the ground: Vick has 44 rushing attempts for 341 yards, Brandon Jacobs has 73 rushing attempts for 377 yards. I understand that it's a little early to crown the MVP, but he deserves it for the level he is playing at. No one else in the league has been on the same planet as Vick, he looks as if he's become everything he was projected to be in terms of upside and even more. It has been a while back, but do you all remember how hard it was to stop Vick when all he had was Alge Crumpler and Brian Finneran in Atlanta?? Do you remember the days when going to see Vick play was called the "Michael Vick Experience??" Well it's back and it's twice as good, if not three times as better as the old show!! All people used to say was that he couldn't produce while in the pocket, well be careful what you ask for because those people just got it!! Vick has reclaimed his title of the most exciting player in the NFL in my mind, what do you have to say about him??

Why this Streak is Different!!

So I'm sure all of you are aware that the Uconn Women's Baskeball team are in the midst of an 80 game win streak. They just came off a victory against Baylor where the Huskies held on for dear life. There are a lot of people on the women's side of College Basketball that want the Huskies to fall short of the record they are after. The record for anyone who isn't aware of it, is the record that John Wooden and his UCLA team set of 88 consecutive victories. As of today the Huskies are 9 games away from making history, if they were to do this the Huskies would be owners of the greatest records in all of sports. What makes this so interesting is how this paticular Uconn team isn't as dominant as the ones that started this streak. This might be one of the weakest teams that Geno Auriemma has had in some time in Storrs. That is what makes it so great, most everyone on the outside doesn't realize how young this team is. The beauty of this is that of all the teams Uconn has had, THIS team is the one that is in reach of the record. This young, inexperienced bunch have a lot riding on their shoulders. Outside of Maya Moore and Tiffany Hayes, this team doesn't have the long list of All-Americans lined up and down it's rosters. However they do have THE best player in the country in Moore, but it's going to be tough because the rest of the group is going to HAVE to make plays. Usually Uconn always has at least two great players on one team, this time is different because outside of Maya the rest of the roster is unknown. Do I think they can pull this off?? Yes because I think Geno is the best coach in the country and he has the best player in the country at his disposal. Will it be a cake walk?? Hardly because the coaches don't play, the team is not battle tested as a unit. If they make it look easy I will be very very very suprised!! Do you think the Huskies will break Wooden's record?? If they don't, how many games will they fall short??

You Choose: Truth, Witch Hunt, or Smear Campaign?

So Cam Newton is or was the leading Heisman Trophy Candidate, he is a junior at Auburn University. Over the past three years, there has been little to no news about Newton's potential off field problems. Why at this specific juncture in his collegiate career, when he is in the running for the Heisman does all of this "news" spew out of the past?? We all know that he committed to the University of Florida coming out of high school, we also know that when Tebow decided to come back for his senior year that Newton transfered. Some of that had to do with Newton's purchase of a stolen laptop, he was suspended from the team and than invited back on after the court approved program he completed. It had also been said that Newton got caught cheating several times at Florida, yet none of this made headlines as many of Urban Meyer's players seem to "avoid" the spotlight when they are caught doing wrong. Newton then transfered to Blinn college(a Juco) and won the NJCAA(National Junior College Athletic Assosication) Championship, here is where the "trouble" started. Newton was the only 5 star recruit coming out of Junior College that year, he was being heavily recruited by both Auburn and Mississpi State. Newton chose Auburn, and now after at least a year Missisppi State is saying that there were issues within the recruiting process!! They are saying that either the Newtons(Cam and his father Cecil) or someone representing them were asking for a "pay to play" type deal. Allegedly this is why Newton chose Auburn because Miss State didn't "offer" enough money. My biggest issue with this, is in light of the "Reggie Bush" situation why has no one from Miss State come forward "On Record" to say that this is indeed what happened. Why is no on from Florida getting in trouble for releasing a students private information, I would venture to say that the cheating scandal is probably on a students "personal file." So how is that information allowed to be shared? Why all of a sudden is Miss State releasing all of this "information", is it because they were okay with the "pay to play" deal and they didn't get chosen? Or is Newton's success like salt in an open wound seeing that they could of really used a player with that kind of talent? Help me out here, why did all of these allegations come forward in the past 2 weeks if all of these things allegedly happened at least 2 years ago??

Was it Worth it in Hindsight??

So the Redskins are 4-4 and the Raiders are 5-4 in the extremely tough AFC. The Raiders don't have the line that the Skins have, or the talent on offense according to most. What I find extremely interesting about this is that Jason Campbell has a better passer rating than Washington's "Savior" Donavan McNabb. Both of the QB's have similar numbers, both have 7 passing TDs. Mcnabb has thrown 8 INTs to Campbell's 5. McNabb has thrown for 1971 yds to Campbell's 1252 yds, my point is what was the point of getting rid of Jason?? To make matters worse, McNabb's career QB rating is only 3 POINTS better than Campbell's career QB rating. McNabb is much older than Campbell, so what was the point?? Campbell is getting it done with Darius Heyward-Bey and Jacoby Ford as of late. The Raider's recieving corps is depleted due to injuries, both teams like to run the ball and play defense. The only difference is that Oakland allows Jason Campbell to PLAY, he's allowed to go DOWNFIELD. In Washington they rarely let him get vertical in the passing game and dispelled the notion that he could throw a catchable deeep ball. In realaity it's the exact opposite, Campbell throws one of the better deep balls in the game with a lot of touch and great accuaracy. It goes back to them just letting him do what he's comfortable doing. You villified this young kid, only to replace him with an older QB with less arm strength and less accuarcy. It has been rumored for years that McNabb often underthrows & overthrows his recievers. I'm just asking in hindsight, was it worth it?? The supposedly better QB (McNabb) has been benched for REX GROSSMAN!! Let me know, was it worth it because the Redskins are already looking for a QB for next season. Jason Campbell or Donavan McNabb??

NHL Snapshot...

Yes I'm aware of the hockey season that has started and I would like those of you that are hockey fans to know that I'm working on having a weekly hockey segment. As soon as that happens I will make sure you all know, now I will share with you my thoughts on this young season.

The Caps have the best record in the Eastern Conference and the 3rd best record in the league. Capitals fans should be proud as their team is 10-4, the closest team to them in the Eastern Conference is the Flyers at 9-4 of which the Caps beat last night in overtime on Mike Green's goal! What's quite interesting to me is the current state of the Pittsburgh Penguins who are only 7-7 on the season. The Los Angeles Kings are doing great over in the Western Conference with a record of 10-3, I can't decide who's better as St. Louis is 9-1 but they have only played 12 games. Well actually I can decide who's better the Kings and the Capitals don't have any draws whereas the Blues have 2. We don't condone draws/ties here at My M.O.S, so at this current point the leaders are the Caps and the Kings!!

Leaders, leaders, LEADERS!!! As I said before it's only a snapshot of this point in the season, no indictments are to made. The current points leaders are: Steven Stamkos(22), Sid the Kid(19), Ovie(18), Brad Richards(18), and Patrick Sharp(17) I would love to go on, but if I share everything with you here than you won't check into the NHL segment every week. So that concludes this NHL Snapshot, Who do you have overtaking the points leader, Crosby or Ovechkin??

An Elite QB after all??

So many things were said about Andy Reid getting rid of Donavan McNabb, especially letting him go to a rival in the NFC East. Kevin Kolb was supposed to be the leader, a Drew Brees knockoff(not a bad thing) with great control of the pocket and the West Coast System. The Eagles were going to continue to use Vick in "packages", well obviously the Eagles weren't being forthright about what was really going on in their complex these last 2 years. Let me share with you what I think happened, Reid got the perfect QB for his offense when he got Vick. Vick was working behind the scenes from Day 1 on mastering that offense, the result being this year when Kolb went down and Vick came in and almost led the Eagles back. What I'm saying is that there is no way possible that your "wildcat" QB can come in and have a certain level of mastery over the entire playbook unless of course you were grooming him to start to begin with. Vick has been outstanding this season, he's yet to throw an interception and his pocket presence and poise is spectacular. He just outplayed big brother Manning, why isn't that the big story today??? Is it because all of those naysayers will have to come back and apologize?? I have been defending him as an elite QB his whole career, just because you may not like his "style" of quarterbacking doesn't make him bad. That's just a preference, there's no law that says all elite QB's must stay in the pocket and take big hits. He has an arm equal to or greater(greater in my opinion) than many of the "elite" QB's in the game, it's not his fault he doesn't have a big wind up and is able to flick the ball 70 yards with great velocity. It's not his fault he was blessed with elite wide out speed either, or the agility of an elite running back. He is what he is and he should be applauded and celebrated as an "elite" QB in this league. Let me share with you his 2010 numbers so far this season: QB Rating 105.3 Passing Yards 1017 Passing TDs 7 Int 0 Rushing Yards 261 Rushing TDs 2 What's wrong with those numbers, does that sound like an "average" QB?? The man deserves an apology, he has regained his form as well as exceeded his former level of play. This is Michael Vick, this is what he could be if he could reach his potential. Well he's only 30, he's missed 2 years and he has at least another 4 years left. The scariest part of this, I still don't believe he's reached his prime!! What do you think of the job Vick has done this year?? Is this year an aberration or will he continue to get better??

Trouble in D.C???

I know I usually wait until Tuesday to do my NFL recaps, and I still will have one coming tomorrow but this can't wait. What in the world is going on in Washington?? They were down just 1 score to the Lions, and they took McNabb out for Rex Grossman?? Let me repeat this....REX GROSSMAN???????? Their have been alot of questionable coaching calls this season for every team, but this might have been the worse!! McNabb might not resign after this, and that leaves the Skins with no QB!! Say McNabb leaves and the Skins aren't able to get a decent QB in the draft?? What does this do to your team, what kind of message was sent through the rest of that locker room yesterday when that decision was made?? It's not like Donavan is a young player, he is a veteran and that's how Shannahan treated him?? Will this hamper the Redskins bid in Free Agency in the future, no matter how you spin this it's definitely a NEGATIVE!! What do you think of Coach Shannahan's decision yesterday??

Has the Fat Lady started warming up??

The Giants are now up in the World Series 3 games to 1, last night young, and I mean young Madison Bumgardener showed the Rangers that the Giants might have 2 aces on their staff. Bumgardener threw 8 shut out innings to give the Giants a 4-0 win on Halloween, the 21 year old is the Giants 4th pitcher in their rotation....the 4th!!! I learned about Bumgardener maybe a year or so ago, reading mostly that he had the tools to be special later on. Emphasis on LATER, well he's here now and he's a problem!! What makes matters worse for the Rangers, guess who they will see tonight from the Giants staff?? Tim Lincecum.....this is a must win for the Rangers and the Giants have the luxury of trotting out their ace. Will the Rangers extend this series past tonight, or will the Giants close the door and make history??

Glimpse into the Future...

Last night was a GREAT night for the new wave of floor generals in the NBA, this class of playmakers might be the deepest and most talented in many years. Derek Rose showed why he is arguably the best point guard in the league by his performance last night, the home crowd even began to chant M-V-P!! Keep in mind we are only 2-3 games in this new season!! Rose rallied the Bulls last night at home against the Pistons, Rose's line: 39 points(13-27 from the field),6 boards, 7 dimes, 2 pilfers(steals), and 2 blocks!! Brandon Jennings didn't want to be left out in all of this playmakers of the future talk, Jennings recorded his first career triple double last night against the Bobcats! Jennings finished with 20 points, 10 boards, and 10 assists not to mention that his team also won. John Walls debut was overshadowed by the whipping the Magic gave the Wizards, Wall also didn't have that great of a game. Fast forward to last night and the outcome was the same, the Wizards lost but Wall showed us all the talent that made him the number 1 overall pick. Wall scorched the Hawks for 28 points, 5 boards and 9 dimes...Wall took the game over for the Wizards and if it wasn't for that pesky Joe Johnson the Wizards might have won. The Hawks won 99-95, last but not least Tyreke Evans of Sacramento. Tyreke Evans led his team to a victory over the Cavs last night, he didn't shoot particularly well but he contributed in other areas. Evans finished with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 6 dimes, and a steal!! What makes Evans so special is he is 6'6, 220 pounds playing the point. Keep in mind all of the guys mentioned here are the younger crop, we aren't even mentinoing the Rondos, Williamses, and Westbrooks of the league. Of this younger group of guards, who do you think will become the best in the NBA???

World Series Preview..

So it's official, we now know which 2 teams will be representing the AL and the NL in the World Series!! Question is, did you expect these 2?? Maybe the Rangers, but the Giants...seriously who amongst you all picked the Giants as an actual option when thinking about the World Series?? We all figured whoever won the Rangers-Yankees series was going to be facing the Phillies...right?? Thanks to Ryan Howard leaving his bat in it's holster on Saturday night on the decisive pitch of a full count the Giants are in the Fall Classic!! Imagine Game 1's pitching matchup....CLIFF LEE vs TIM LINCECUM!!! This is going to be a very competitive series because of the depth of arms on both rosters, both teams have good rotations with each having a truly special player (both mentioned above)!! The Rangers offense is explosive, but the Giants offense still manages to come through when needed. So who's it going to be, the Yankee killer aka Cliff Lee or Freaky Tim Jim(see Sportscenter Commercial) aka Tim Lincecum?? Rangers or Giants?? It starts this Wednesday at 7:57 pm....

ALCS & NLCS both tied...

Now that this weekend has passed, we have gotten to see 2 great series of baseball. Game 1 provided a historic comeback by the Yankees and one heck of a gem pitched by Tim Lincecum. In Game 2, both of the teams that were down a game bounced back and blasted their opponents. Game 3 in the ALCS is tonight featuring Cliff Lee vs Andy Pettite for a lead in this series. Game 3 in the NLCS has Cole Hamels vs Matt Cain in their decisive game. Who do you have winning the Game 3 match ups and who do you have coming out on top in each?? Will it be the Yanks vs the Phillies, or the Rangers vs Giants?? Tell me what you think.....

Curious Cut??

It is Week 5 in the NFL, why is Devin Thomas a former 2nd Round pick a free agent?? Thomas was released/cut earlier this week and there was nothing released in terms of an excuse. Did he do something wrong, he never really cracked the starting line up to even be labeled a bust. So why did the Redskins release a player so young, I think this will come back to haunt them. Many of you may not like Devin Thomas, but I don't believe in giving up on young players. You(Redskins) knew when you drafted him that he was unpolished, young, and a project. I understand Malcom Kelly not being there due to his high attendance on the Injury list, but Mr. Thomas was mostly healthy while he was here. He even produced when he got an "opportunity" to play, so I am really clueless as to why he was let go. At 6'2, 215 pounds Thomas will become a productive receiver in this league in my opinion. I just believe that the Redskins didn't want to take the time to educate the young man, maybe I'm wrong who knows? Tell me if you think I'm off my rocker and his being released doesn't matter. Or do you agree and think they acted prematurely in this case by lettering a player so young go so early??

(Early)NHL Update...

So the season kicked off Thursday night, one of the biggest things that have stood out to me today while I was looking at the standings.....Pitsburgh 0-2 and the Caps are 1-1. I know it's only 2 games in, but come on who expected both of these teams to start the season off like that. Dallas, Detroit, Carolina, and Toronto are all undefeated. Once again I am fully aware that it is only 2 games in, but I'm going to keep my eye on that as the season progresses. Should anything be made of the poor starts for both the Caps and Pens?? Or is it way too early to even be concerned??

MLB Playoff Update...

So the Yankees continued their string of dominance over the Minnesota Twins in Post-Season play by sweeping the Twins in 3 games. The Twins won the last two Game 1's the last 2 times they met in the playoffs, they have never won more than 1 game in either of those series. This time however, they were swept and didn't get the chance to steal Game 1. Last year the Yankees won the World Series on the backs, well arms of a strong 3 man pitching rotation. Last year it was Sabathia, Petite, and Burnett. This year Burnett was pushed out of the rotation and it was Sabathia, Pettite, and Phil Hughes. Hughes pitched the decisive game 3, and he made history as one of the 4 Yankee pitchers to pitch 7 scorless innings in a playoff start. Now for the Rays-Rangers series, Texas jumped out to a 2 game league by great pitching and silencing the big bats of the Rays lineup. In Games 3 and 4, the Rays bats came alive and they won both games. Game 5 has both team's aces pitching, it's Cliff Lee vs David Price part 2. It should be an exciting game. The Phillies are up 2-0 in their series and they play later on tonight for a chance to sweep the Reds. The Giants and Braves are tied 1 game a piece, the Giants won game 1 thanks to 1 run and Tim Linceum's outstanding performance. The Braves won Game 2 in extra innings thanks to Rich Ankiel's walk off home run! The Giants and Braves are playing right now!! It's the top of the 6th and the Giants are up 1-0, but if we learned anything from Game 2 it's that this game is far from over. Who do you think is going to advance and face the Yankees in the ALCS?? Will the Phillies complete the sweep, and who's going to win Game 3 in the Braves-Giants series to gain the advantage??

Which Moss is Minnesota getting??

I thought long and hard before this post, I have been asked about it a couple times already since the trade happened. I have finally come to a conclusion in my thought process, here it is. Minnesota is a good football team, adding Randy Moss makes it an even better football team. The problem Minny has is that their pass blocking is very, very, very suspect. Favre does need a big time WR right now, the supporting cast might be worse than the offensive line's pass blocking. This trade being a true success hangs squarely on the shoulders of Moss, are we going to see the young focused lively Moss or the current day depressed former superstar Moss?? I definitely wouldn't say Moss has lost a step, but he is one of the most mecurial personalities to have played this game. I always think of his quote when he was with the Raiders, " I play when I want to play." If he chooses to play the Vikings made a great move, if not they better hope that Sydney Rice gets back soon. Some of you might think the Patriots are crazy for letting him go, I think that the supporting cast in New England is 12 times better than the cast in Minnesota not named Rice or Moss. Secondly, the Pats did it on a BYE week so they get time to adjust the offense. Lastly, don't ever question Bill Bellicheck because he knows what he is doing. We might not see it when it first happens, but trust me he has everything covered. Back to Mr. Moss, is he going to make the Vikings Super Bowl contenders once again??

Complete Game Shutout or No Hitter???

So which was more impressive, the No-No that Holladay threw or Mr. Lincecum striking out 14 while going 9 innings?? I witnessed both games this week and I am in favor of Lincecum, let me explain. Holladay had 4 runs of support while Lincecum only had 1. He singlehandedly won the game other than the 1 run his team put up, and he didn't just win he dominated. Most of the strikeout pitches were really balls. Lincecum had all of the Braves batters fooled so bad they were willing to chase ANYTHING in hopes of making contact. The most impressive part to me was that he finished the game with a strikeout, and it was a 92 mph pitch!! How was he capable of having that much left in his tank for the last batter of the game?? So you tell me, which one was more impressive??

Thursday, October 7, 2010

No Hitter!!

I am still shocked that Roy Holladay started the 2010 MLB Playoffs off with a No-No, actually utter disbelief would be more accurate!! Cliff Lee dominated the Rays and Mariano came through again for the Yankees in an exciting 1st night of the Playoffs! The two players I felt the most sorry for last night were David Price and Francisco Liriano, they both pitched good games against good teams with good bats. When your team's bats don't show up it just puts even more pressure on the pitcher, Price and Liriano deserved better last night. Both of their teams should be ashamed of themselves for putting their Aces out there to die without run support. The only series that didn't start last night was the Giants and Braves, I look forward to seeing how Tim Lincecum is going to perform and how rookie phenoms Buster Posey and Jason Heyward respond to the pressure of the playoffs!!! After last night's game, how do you feel about your teams chances??

Curtain goes up tonight!!

It is the start of another NHL season, last year the Blackhawks were the last team standing. Who will it be this year, will the Flyers represent the East in the Stanley Cup again?? Or will the Pens get back to their supposedly rightful spot in the Cup, or do the Caps finally realize their potential?? Do the Redwings rebound and remember who they are or will it be an up and coming team in the West that shows up in the battle for Lord Stanley's cup?? This is what makes October such a great month, MLB Playoffs, NBA Preseason, and NHL Reguar season all are going on at the same time. I don't forsee many good nights of sleep in my future, but I am willing to get over it!! What team has you the most excited to watch this season?? Do you think your team has what it takes to be playing for the Cup??

NFL Week 2

Week 3 College Football

The Experience will Continue....

Several years ago the good people of Atlanta were fortunate enough to witness the Experience live on Sundays. The Experience went away and has now returned...as of today the good people of Philadephia found out that the Experience will now start!! Hide your wife, hide your kids Michael Vick is BACK!!! Vick was supposed to be the insurance for the young and supposedly extremely talented Mr. Kolb, due to Kolb's lack of awareness in the pocket and his in ability to recognize obvious blitzes he suffered a concussion in the first game of the season. He didn't recover in time to start Week 2 and now going into Week 3 Vick has been named the Eagles QB. Reid cited many reasons for his decision, none of which that gave Vick his due credit. However, Reid did say that he(Vick) "is playing out of his mind right now." Reid and the Eagles kicked McNabb out of Philadelphia, declared that Kolb was his heir, and now are saying Vick is their guy. What are they doing?? I personally don't think that Kolb is a bust, but he's also not ready to play yet. It's also wasn't right to tell him that it was his team, with out telling him that you (the Eagles) view Vick as more than just a "Wild Cat QB!!" Kolb was given a false sense of security, his back up in Vick is no ordinary back up. Kolb went from backing up a Pro Bowler in McNabb to having his job taken from him by one of the former faces of the League!! Instead of working on improving their offensive line as well as making the QB job an open competition, the Eagles have now made a mess of things for young Kolb. They should have been honest from the start, do you think the Eagles manged this situation correctly??
How do you think Vick will do as their starting QB? Who do you think is better, Vick or Kolb??

NFL Questions...

These are just a couple of things that have boggled my mind the first 2 weeks of the season:

What does Cowboys Offensive Coordinator have on the front office that allows him to retain his job??

With 3 talented running backs and a line that is very very very bad at pass blocking, why does Garrett continue to call 897 thousand passing plays??

Did the Cowboys really just draft Dez Bryant because they always wanted a 6'2 225 pound punt/kick returner??

Why did Minnesota set Brett Favre up by not telling him that his best reciever wasn't going to be available until after Favre signed?

Why does Brad Childress think that he's smarter than Brett Favre, and how does Childress still have his job??

If I told you that Darrelle Revis isn't the best corner on his team, what would you say??

Why do teams think playing prevent at the end of a game is "safe" even when they know it's a bad idea??

Has anyone noticed that the Buccaneers and the Chiefs are 2-0??

Why is Michael Vick officially back, and no team has asked to trade for his services??

How many Pro Bowl QB's does Andy Reid have to get rid of before he realizes that Kevin Kolb is terrible??

College Football Fans

To all those who are big College Football fans who are followers of the blog.... I will address College Football after the conclusion of that week. This week it's going to be Tuesday only because of Monday Night's game, for the remainder of the season I should be able to get something up by Sunday or Monday of that playing week. For example Week 2's posts will be up that Sunday right after the Saturday of playing. Week day games during the season, that will be determined.

Why Floyd??

Dear Mr. Mayweather,

Just want to start off by saying I'm on of the biggest Floyd Mayweather Jr. fans in the world......HOWEVER....I heard about his little rant that was posted on the internet, and than I watched it. I understand if that's how you feel and expressing yourself, but keep that between you and your boys. Most of the world doesn't like you and you're not helping the cause, you are one of the few "boxers" left in the sport. You should take a lesson from Michael Vick, they're not your boys if they are unable to use the words: no, don't do that, why WOULD you do that, that's a BAD idea!! You are now THE sole villan in a sport of sheer deceit, of all the things you have ever done up to this point....this WAS the worst by far and may now define your legacy or what was left of it. Instead of maybe going down as one of the best "boxers" not fighters, but boxers & due to this video it is all GONE!! I will still be an admirer of your God Given Gift, but I will no longer defend you the person and what you stand for after this. I do hope that you and Manny fight and I'm sure that you will win, but my heart will be heavy because even though I respect those that speak their minds, I can't respect those that don't know the TIME when and when not to. You are allowed to belive anything you want to belive, just don't post it on the internet!! You're a bright guy, but this is when one of the members of your entourage should have stopped you.

Did you see the video, and what did you think of it? Now that this has happened do you think this stunt will actually HELP this fight get done?? What do you think of Mayweather the boxer, not the person but the boxer??

Still Holding Out....

Preseason is officially over and the real thing is set to start on Thursday, will the Chargers and the Jets be starting their season with the 53 best players?? Probably not, because Vincent Jackson and Darrelle Revis don't look like they are going to be there without new contracts being in place. The Chargers look like they have accepted that Jackson will not be there by picking up Patrick Crayton from the Dallas Cowboys today for a 7th Round pick. The Chargers front office is at it again, almost every year they are up "that" creek with no paddle in negoatiations with their best players. Replacing LT with Ryan Matthews might have been a move they could have gotten away with, "IF" Jackson was in camp and ready to go. He's not and I don't how great a player Mr. Philip Rivers is, the Chargers are not going to replace Jackson's production and it will show. I don't know if I may have misread it or not but I thought I saw that Jackson was willing to sit out the first 10 games if he didn't get paid. Now to the other disgruntled employee in Mr. Revis. I really feel bad for him because he definitely out performed his contract, I KNOW that the Jets didn't expect this kid to be the best corner in the league when they drafted him. They lucked out and they are doing wrong by not admitting such and paying him!! The reason I feel worse is that unlike the Chargers, the Jets have an insurance policy and it's a very good one. Maybe some of you may have forgotten that Antonio Cromartie was going to be that guy after his outstanding year in 2007 when he burst on to the scene with 44 tackles, 18 passes defended, and 10 interceptions!! The reason you haven't heard his name in the past couple seasons was partly due to injury(to which he played through) and the Charger's defensive scheme, he's a man to man specialist, not someone you stick in zone coverage and that's what they did. Secondly, if Rex Ryan could make teams throw at the best corner in the league don't you think he can do the same thing by forcing teams to throw at Cromartie?? The only part of this that is troubling, is Cromarties issue with his hip. If it flares up or gets worse than they are going to lose leverage(the Jets) with Revis and will be at his mercy. So why not just pay Revis his money and have the BEST corner tandem in the NFL?? Who do yo think is in a worse situation, the Chargers or the Jets?? Who's worth more to their team, Jackson or Revis??

What a difference a year makes.....

78-84, that was the record the Cincinnati Reds posted last season. This year on September 2, 2010 the same Cincinnati Reds are 23 games over .500. At 78-55 the Reds are in first place in their division and are on their way to being a factor as to how this post season plays out!! That's not even the best part, the Reds have a player who is in contention to win the NL Triple Crown!! 1st Baseman Joey Votto is on a tear this season, Votto is 1st in RBI's, 2nd in Batting Average, and 3rd in Home Runs!! Bronson Arroyo and Johnny Cueto have done a good job this season with Arroyo going 14-8 and Cueto going 12-4, add rookie Mike Leake to those two with a record of 8-4 with 13 quality starts and the Reds have themselves a more than decent rotation. What makes these 3 so valuable is that they are inning eaters, so that takes pressure off your bull pen since the starters routinely give you 6-7 innings. The Reds are 5th as a team in the NL in the Saves category, last but not least they called up their young flamethrower in Aroldis Chapman. All Chapman does is throw heat, and I'm not talking about high 90's maybe flirting with 100. Chapman routinely hit's triple digits, yesterday against the Brewers he came in and got the win in an inning of relief work. What makes Chapman so dangerous is not only his high heat, but his disgusting slider. There was an at-bat when Chapman went 100, down to 86 with a slider, back up to 102, than finished it off with another filthy slider clocked at 89 mph. The Reds have their own version of Netali Feliz the young closer for the Rangers, Chapman will surely be a weapon for the Reds in the post season much like a couple years ago when the Rays brought David Price out of the bull pen. What do you think of the Reds turn around, is Joey Votto going to win the NL Triple Crown?? What do you think of Aroldis Chapman???

USA Mens Soccer....SMH

It hurt so much to share this that I waited a day before starting this. Bob Bradley received a 4 year extension to be the coach of the USA Mens team. Just last week it was reported that the US Soccer Federation was in talks with Jurgen Klinsman, when I had read that I was ELATED!!! Now...just sad!! In 4 more years at the next World Cup, Mr. Bradley will lead a somewhat talented team to another embarrassing loss. I understand that those are strong words after the job he did this past year, I do think that he's a decent coach. I just don't think he has any idea how to put a team together. There were so many weapons left at home last year when the US went to the World Cup, I just can't watch that again knowing that they are not bringing the full arsenal. Youth needs to be injected into that line up, and their is a lot of US youth playing in different leagues around the world getting very valuable experience. It's time to look past their age and at their skill, they need to be on the field!! I do hope Mr. Bradley has an epiphany and does exactly what I am recommending so that the US will be loaded. If not the USA fans should expect the same kind of inconsistent level of play as in past years. Do you think Bob Bradley did/does a good job?? Would you have preferred Jurgne Klinsman, or was Bradley the right choice? Will the US ever be true contenders under the watch of Bob Bradley??

Team USA's Big Scare...

So yesterday the US hung on to beat Brazil 70-68. I was relieved they won, but I sat there and watched the whole game and came away thinking that US is hurting themselves. Coach K, needs to remember that he's not at Duke and that starting 5 can and SHOULD be tinkered with. The US starting 5 is not a reflection of the best players on the team, leaving Durant and Rose out there with limited fire power is not fair. I love the defensive intensity that Andre Iguadola brings to this team, I'd love it more if he'd bring it from off the bench!! Iggy doesn't look comfortable out there with the starting 5 offensively, I mean he's been in the league for more than a few years now and he doesn't even look for his shot out there. It's almost like playing 4 on 5 on offense, KD needs help!! Rose is responsible for running the show and he picks and chooses his spots, I also think he kind of holds back because he is often paired with Billups and he defers to him. I think Billlups should come off the bench as well, he should be the leader of that 2nd unit. When the US started to make their run, they had Rose, Gordon, Gay, Durant, and Love out on the floor. I understand that Love is a little small, but knowing HOW to rebound goes a long way. Love is also capable of strecthing the defense with his perimiter shooting. Gordon would be the desingated long range gunner with this unit, and putting Gay out there with Durant gives KD another guy out there who isn't AFRAID to shoot the ball. The pairing of Gay and Durant would also give teams fits, one of those guys is going to have someone far smaller on them and their added length would negate the height of Love. I don't want to see any more close games when there shouldn't be the need for it. I understand Coach K and his whole sacrifice and share message, but that is going to bite us in the end if he doesn't put more players who WANT to shoot on the floor to give KD and Rose some options!!! Do you think Coach K is putting the best players out on the floor?? Should he change his rotations? Or was Brazil just that good and the US should be happy with their result??

Fallen Phenom...

Dear Stephen Strasburg, thankyou for making this baseball season worth watching. As a Yankees fan I generally ignore the sport due to the length of the regular season, I ususally don't start getting into baseball til the pennant races. You are the sole reason that I have been reading baseball articles and looking into up and coming prospects to see if they will fare as great as you did this season. You singlehandedly revived a franchise every day that you were scheduled to start, not too many players can do that in any sport let alone in their ROOKIE season. After hearing of your current state, injuries and the name of the surgery that I shall not name I would like to be the FIRST person to say that you WILL be back to your normal self. To me and before everybody attacks this...I repeat TO ME, Tommy John surgery is the baseball equivalent of microfracture surgery in the NBA. I think you Mr. Strasburg will be Tommy John's Amare Stoudamire. Alot of players in the NBA have had microfracture surgery and mostly all of them have returned but not with all of the explosiveness they left with. Mr. Stoudamire like you, had this happen at an unusually young age and bounced back better than anyone has expected. So much so that he was allowed to walk away from his team to a new one because his former team pretty much said his knee is bound to fail. Amare like you Mr. Strasburg, is a specimen. One of those few guys that come along with so many physical gifts to help them dominate. I have already seen writers saying that you are going to have to change this and that because your velocity WILL not be there when you recover from that surgery, I am sure you will ignore what EVERYONE has to say and come back even BETTER than you were before your injury. I truly hope that the Nationals don't do what the Suns did and watch you walk away and blame this injury as the reason why!! You WILL be the one EXCEPTION Mr. Strasburg, and I can't wait til you get back on that mound!! I wish you a very healthy and speedy recovery!! Do you think Starsburg will ever be the same?? Will he be a shell of his former self?? Have you already written him off and waiting for Bryce Harper??(Natinals Fans)

AL East Race...Scorching!!

The Rays and the Yankees are in one heck of a race and it's not even the home stretch yet!! They are only separated by A game, just one!! The closest division race in all of baseball second to the AL East is the NL East where the Braves lead the Phillies by 2.5 games. Their road records are nearly identical with the Yanks at 35-25 and the Rays at 37-24, the Rays need to step up their play at home. They are 39-24 at home and the Yanks are 42-22, even the home record is only a slight difference!! These two teams are fighting tooth and nail for this division, the closest team to either of them is the Red Sox and they are 6.5 back. The Ray's Matt Garza beat the Oakland A's Dallas Braden today in Oakland for the Rays win today. Garza got his career high 13th win against the A's after dropping his last 3 starts. The Rays as I mentioned earlier are VERY hard to beat on the road, they are doing everything possible to keep pace with the Yankees. Now, for the Yankees they have had bad news as A-Rod was sent to the DL recently. That would be good news for everyone else except the Yankees are undefeated this season when Mr. Rodriguez is not present!! Seattle came into town on Friday and shut down the Yanks 6-0, the Yankees returned the favor on Saturday by beating the Mariners 9-5. Today however, the Yankees went for blood...they pounded the Mariners 10-0!!! CC Sabathia got his 17th win of the year and Robbie Cano continued swinging his hot bat and finished the game with 6 RBI's!! Cano has been bumped up to Mr. Rodriguez's spot and has made sure his absence wasn't felt, Cano hit his 4th career grand slam today!! Of these 2 teams, who do you think is going to win the division and who do you think will be the wild card?? Is this soley a race between these 2 teams or will the Red Sox rally to make this race even more interesting as the post season approaches?? What team out of this division has the best chance to win the World Series???

Team USA's Weekend..

So Team USA had a big weekend....the question is how did they do?? They rallied to beat Lithuania and held on to beat Spain, Greece is up next so I'm anxious to watch that game as well. The US looks like they are building chemistry with one another although I don't think we've seen Coach K use his "Tournament" starting 5, I think he's pulling a page out of the European Coaches Book and keeping some of his secrets close to the vest. I think there is an extremely dangerous combination of players on this roster that would make one hell of a starting 5, I just don't think we are going to see it until it's time. I see that KD is the leader, Iggy is the stopper, Rudy is the 2nd scorer, and D.Rose is THE point guard. Chauncey and Lamar in the leadership role is what most see, I on the other hand see a trio of leaders. That would be KD, Rose, and Gay!! If you want a good measure of how the team is doing, check their stats. Rondo whom I love to death is NOT a FIBA point guard, Rose is the most FIBA made point guard on the roster. The other player I love and I mean love is Iggy aka Andre Iguadala, he has been one of the most consistent players so far and his defense especially in the passing lanes is HUGE!! I think the team will be alright, but the line ups and roles need to be determined before tournament play so everybody is aware of what they SHOULD bring to the table. What do you think of the USA Team?? Do you think they can win the World Championships, or that they should have brought more experienced players?? Do you think their 1 point victory over Spain is just a prelude to a world class collapse in this tournament??

Trade Ya Derek Lee for.....

So the NL East leading Atlanta Braves lost Chipper Jones for the season one week and get Derek Lee the next week. Do you want to know what it cost?? Three Pitching prospects, yup that it!! Get this, it's the best part none of them are in Triple A!!! I am the biggest advocate for trading players past their primes for younger guys, only I hate when it's done wrong!! The Cubs got hosed, bamboozled, hustled, whatever you want to call it the Braves got over on them!! All that talent on the Braves roster that is Big League ready and all you got was a couple of guys in Single and Double A??? I'm not a Braves or Cubs fan, what they do has no impact on my team since I am a fan of an AL East team. I just hate when I see obvious 1 sided trades, I'm not even going to put down the 3 pitchers names because I don't think it will ever be relevant, emphasis on EVER!!! I would like to congratulate the Braves from loosing Troy Glaus to having a healthy Derek Lee for essentially nothing!! What do you think of his trade, did the Cubs come out on top by getting the 3 young pitchers?? Are the Braves building for a World Series Run???

Dear Brett Favre...

Dear Brett Favre, I hate your stinking guts....You are more than a grown man, you are old enough to be a"seasoned" head coach, every time I try to accept you for the talent you are THIS happens!! Mr. Favre I don't like to wish bad on anyone, but you are just asking for it this year. I have begrudgingly took your premature bouts with retirement rather quietly, this time however.....I WILL NOT!! If you were anyone else in this league, you would be ripped by the media, instead you are celebrated. That is the part that bothers me more than anything and any Brett Favre fans reading this, you might want to stop the rest of this post might make you queasy. Mr. Favre has won A Super Bowl, not several just 1. Trent Dilfer won 1 as well, why is he not as celebrated as Mr. Favre?? For all the love Mr. Favre gets, his career passer rating is only 86.6, you would think it would be flirting with 100 or something but as it is, it's only a 86.6. Surely someone this talented would have an other world like completion percentage right...of course not Mr. Favre's is a 62 for his career and that counting last year where he had his best statistical year! Mr. Favre has 497 Touchdowns and 317 Interceptions. Peyton Manning has 366 Touchdowns compared to only 181 Interceptions, Manning's career passer rating is 95.2!! Drew Brees has a career passer rating of 91.9, I am not saying that Brett Favre is a bad NFL player. Favre is going to go down as one of the greats, I'm just saying he's far from being the GREATEST!! I'm just saying that he shouldn't be applauded for his CHILDLIKE behavior. If we as a nation can rip down LeBron James with no issue who at 25, why does Favre get love for doing the same thing 3 TIMES and no one say one disparaging thing??? I dont get it, will someone please explain this to me??'

I'm listening..

Why Redskins Fans should be Optomistic...

The Washington Redskins at this time of the year are usually taking a mediocre Preseason performance to heart and automatically guranteeing success for their team in the upcoming season. For the past decade or so, it's only been worth it 2 or 3 times. Well Skins' Fans...It might be time to accept that your team is going to REALLY be a contender in the NFC East!! I'm not talking about the B.S type of contender in a division, but a real like finishing at least in the running for 2nd type contender in a division. What I saw for the first time in years on Friday night was a Redskins team with..are you ready for this....DIRECTION!! They finally have the type of LEADER they need, there is a lot of talent here on this roster and there usually is always above average talent on the Skins' roster. Only this time they have someone who has a CLEAR cut direction as to where they are going and what the identity of this team is going to be. Trust me Skins' fans, as a 49er fan I truly understand what it's like to watch your team operate without a leader!! When we got Coach Singletary there were 3 things I knew, he wasn't going to take anybody's ish,his team was going to be disciplined, and that their was finally a direction. That is what you all now have in Shanahan, your team will do a few things no matter what the case. 1: They are going to RUN the football and run it well, 2: They are going to be disciplined, and 3: They have a direction and will not allow anybody to get them off track!! I still believe the Giants will win the division, but I don't see why the Skins can't finish 2nd if not fight for 1st!! Dallas...as long as Garrett is calling their plays will beat themselves until he is fired!! Philly has always had Red Zone issues offensively and I don't care who they have personel wise as long as Reid is their coach they will NOT run the ball!! Do you think the Redskins have a chance this year? Who IS the best team in the NFC East??

Scottie Pippen's HOF Induction shows us a glimpse of LeBron's Future

1st off let me say that I apologize to whoever I may offend before I continue. Congratulations to Scottie Pippen for getting his much awaited moment, prior to this past weekend he was the guy in MJ's shadow. If you are truly a basketball fan you would not truly believe that Scottie was "just" a role player. Let's remember..MJ won nothing without Scottie and vice versa. Duing Scottie's era, he was a match up NIGTMARE!! At 6'7, 6'8 he was basically the Bull's starting point guard except that he ran it from the small forward spot. Does that remind you of anybody today, someone who is physically superior and could do EVERYTHING on a basketball court. Pippen could take over a game just as much as MJ could, just maybe not on the same level consistency wise or Pippen was just molded to be what he was....one of the greatest "team players" in the NBA. Pip was able to impact the game in the same way MJ was and that was what made the Bulls so hard to beat, Pippen was just as devestatingly effective as MJ just in a different manner. I think people truly underappreciate how talented Pip was, now let's tie this to LeBron's Future. They are 2 of a kind, only LeBron got to play by himself first and gain all the meaningless accolades that Pip recieved after MJ retired. By meaningless I mean that the accolades didn't result in rings. LeBron just joined forces with D Wade and Bosh. Bosh is far more talented than Horace Grant was, and I'm not saying Wade is MJ, but I am saying he's taking MJ's role as ALPHA DOG on this team. LeBron is going to do everything in between, he is equally effective as Wade in crucial moments maybe not cut from the same "closer" cloth...neither was Pip. Like Pip, Bron is unguardable and able to impact the game far more in a secondary role than as the soloist. Let me know what you think, this is contraversial and I want to know what you ALL think!!

That 5 Player Trade doesn't mean Chris Paul's Staying

Let's summarize this: the Pacers get their much needed point guard in Nick Collison(James Posey was part of the deal as well), Troy Murhpy goes to the Nets to play the 4 until Derrick Favors is ready, Trevor Ariza is now a Hornet and Courtney Lee lands in Houston. So now the Hornets got rid of the only player on their roster who could step up and fill in for Paul if he left. Even with the addition of Ariza the Hornets now "boast" a line up that includes young Marcus Thorton, David West, Emaka Okafor and Paul. I don't know abou you, but that hardly sounds like groundbreaking changes. To me it sounds like Paul has just move the other foot over the threshold of the door and into Free Agency in 2 years. Do you think they(the Hornets) did enough to keep Chris Paul happy?? Who do you think made the best of this deal??

USA's First Time Under the Bright Lights

The "New Look" USA team took on France today as part of the events of the World Basketball Festival held in New York that was largely put together by Nike. The USA started very slow, but I think the question as to who the 2nd Fiddle is to Kevin Durant has been answered. Rudy Gay showed why the Grizz gave him that lucrative extension this off season. He was scoring at will and was extremely efficient while doing so, Durant than woke up and joined the party. Those 2 players are going to make it very difficult for the rest of the world, there aren't too many guys their size who can do what they do. Coach K had a line up today that included Chandler,Odom,Gay,Durant, and Derrick Rose!! That is an extremely long, athletic, and versatile group of players. Stephen Curry showed why he IS going to be on this team by passing the ball and shooting the lights out. Eric Gordon made a case for himself by continuing to shoot as well, I am a little worried about Russell Westbrook because of his lack of a perimiter jumper. You can't take 2 of those guys, Rondo and Westbrook. I like where this team is going, and I hope Rudy Gay continues to show the world why he is on the verge of being a household name!! Derrick Rose IS the best point guard on the roster and he BARELY turns the ball over. Do you like the new "Team USA?" Or do you think they will fail because of their lack of size or starpower??

Apology to Readers...

I would like to apologize for my absence this past week, there have been many, many, many, MANY things that have happend all across the Sports World and I have missed all of them. So now that things have returned to a sense of normalcy in my life I shall get back on the grind and get these sports topics posted and ready for discussion. Once again, my DEEPEST apologies. I mean how do I miss the begining of NFL Preseason??? It's not acceptable.

5 Issues I wish would go away FOR-E-VER!!

1. Brett Favre
-I OFFICIALLY no longer care if you play and when you decide to do so, Please stop holding all the rest of the football fans that can see through you and your "special" needs for attention. To the media, please LEAVE him alone...who knows...if you left him alone he might of retired 2-3 years ago!!!

2. LeBron James and the city of Cleveland\ State of Ohio
- Just because someone was born somewhere doesn't mean they have to LIKE it!!
-Home grown does not mean Home OWNED!!!!
-GET OVER IT, he's gone...F-O-R-EVER!!!
-and NO it's not possible for the Cavs to win a title before the HEAT, please stop listening to your crazy owner

3. Mike Shanahan, Albert Haynesworth, and the Washington Redskins Organization
-Now that he's passed, was it really worth it??
-Did it make him a better person? Did he walk away from this with some new found sense of pride or respect?? NO!!!
-To Mr. Snyder, please tell the next player who's house you show up to at 12:01 am for next year's free agent class the WHOLE story, hopefully you learned that maybe leaving out little things like coaching changes might actually AFFECT a player's decision??
-STOP giving maxed out contracts where there is no longer an actual INCENTIVE to play!! Giving people all their guaranteed money upfront...probably not a good idea...just think about it...

4. Tiger Woods and the questions about his personal life/ when are you going to win again?
-Understand these words carefully members of the media....NO COMMENT...he is not going to answer your questions about is personal life EVER!!!..Let it go!!!
-Woods is so far ahead of everyone else he could lose for another year and a half before someone gets close enough to care
-If he never one AGAIN, he still finishes as what the 2nd best golfer....EVER....?? What a terrible accomplishment...

5. NCAA vs Players vs Agents
-Just PAY the kids!!
-You(the NCAA) already make soooo much money off of these kids(exploitation), it really wouldn't hurt to give them a stipend of some sort
-When a team wins a title, the school gets paid and the kids get pictures, rings, and a great big pat on the back??? While the Coaches and schools get PAID!!!
-Please stop allowing agents on campuses and then telling the players to stay away from them!! Obviously you don't care that deeply about the kids if you allow the "parasites" on campus!!
-How did Tim Floyd and Pete Carrol escape the OJ Mayo and Reggie Bush violations unscathed...am I the only one who noticed that both coaches weren't held responsible at all???
-College Football just come out and admit you are all too GREEDY to have a playoff system, please stop making up very bad excuses as to why you like the BCS Format!!

If you feel there was something that deserved to be on this list that I left out please feel free to let me know. If you are offended by the issues I have chose(Brett Favre Fans), also let me know!!

Do you agree with the top 10 teams?? Are there any teams in here that you feel don't belong? Any teams who were omitted thus blatantly disrespected??

Revis Island and Alcotraz..

I was reading an article about the Jet's training camp and came across a part about Antonio Cromartie, most of the talk this training camp is all about Darrelle Revis and his absence. Well all I want to talk about is Cromartie, he had asked fans to come up with a nickname via twitter and the result is "Alcotraz!" So now they have two places that no one wishes to go, and there's no coming back. A while back I had said that of all the Jet's offseason moves that this was the biggest!! I don't think anyone has ever had 2 corners of this quality at the same time and around the same age!! I believe Revis is 24 or 25 and Cromartie is 26, if they give them the deals they deserve the Jets will end up with 2 of the top 10 corners in the league in my opinion. I personally think they have 2 of the top 5 corners in the league, but most people seem to forget who Cromartie was. There is nothing wrong with him, it was a combination of scheme and injuries. Cromartie played through a hip injury the past couple of seasons, for defensive backs the hips are the most important piece of the puzzle. If you have tight hips it doesn't allow you to open and turn, having a hip injury obviously hampers you from doing so. Cromartie is a freak athlete, at 6'2 and blessed with elite speed he is a defensive coordinator's dream. The Chargers changed coordinators 2 years ago which resulted to them playing zone, back in 2007 when Cromartie jumped onto the scene with 10 interceptions they were blitzing and playing a lot of man to man. Now he is back in the kind of situation he thrives in, all Rex Ryan likes to do is blitz. Ryan now has 2 corners he can trust to shut down opposing teams wide outs, most teams only have one #1 WR and the Jets have two # 1 corners...you do the math. There is only one place you can go and that's the middle of the field, no matter what happens with Revis the Jets still end up with a top of the line corner!! Now if Revis gets his deal done and gets back on the field, you tell me which place you'd want to visit...Alcotraz...or Revis Island?? Who is going to have more interceptions..Revis or Cromartie?? Is this the best corner tandem in the league?? Will they both get long term deals??

Revis Holdout??

So the Jets are already penciled in to represent the AFC in this year's Super Bowl in Dallas...by most people at least. One of the reasons, if not THE reason is the outstanding defense and their All-Galaxy Corner in Darrelle Revis. Revis Island as he is now known, is arguably THE best man to man corner in the National Football League. Of those in consideration, his new teamate Antonio Cromartie is at least in that discussion as well. I do not believe the Jets are overly concerned, I do not think there is any chance that they won't pay the man. I just think they are content to let it go on a little longer before giving in, they have a lot of players contracts up next year. So they need to come up with an order that they would like to do this in. Of all these players, Revis is not 1st on the list contrary to everyone's belief. I believe the Jets are going to negotiate an extension with Nick Mangold before they dump the rest of the money on Revis Island. D'Brickashaw Ferguson was the first of all of these players to recieve their extentions, that is the reason I am confident that the Revis deal will get done in time. I think the Jets want to give him the money, but wait until it "appears" that they were backed into a corner!! If they wait until Mangold is taken care of, then that is what will happen or at least what it will look like. If the Jets truly cared about money, and were truly "frugal" than they would have never acquired all of these players. They know exactly what they are doing, and the other thing in the Jets favor is that Revis's contract like Chris Johnson's was a real bargain. Nobody knew what they were getting and definitely not this early, this is just a case of a player "overachieving," at least in the sense that they were not expected to play at the level they have already reached!!
When do you think the Jets are going to pay Revis? Or do you think they are going to play hard ball and this dispute will last into the season?? Would you have even let it go this far, or payed him as soon as he made it known he felt he deserved to be paid like the best corner in the game?
