MLB Hot Stove Update!!

  1. You failed to mention the 2nd biggest signing of the offseason- Carl Crawford.

I also think the NYY are in big trouble. Not getting Cliff Lee was an enormous blow to their plans. You now have Sabathia, Hughes (who wilted away as the season progressed) and nobody. Pettite is leaning towards retirement, and Ivan Nova (who??) is your #3? Big trouble in the Big Bronx. Luckily the Rays lost two of their top position players, so a shot at the Wild Card remains intact. I think the Division now belongs to the Red Sox and they are the clear cut favorites to make it to the dance. Adrian Gonzalez will finally get his time in the spotlight, and I believe, will be a better player than Mark Texeira for the rest of his career. The Red Sox reloaded with young talent while the Yankees got older and missed out on their one off-season goal (Lee).

  2. My fault Brandon, I thought I mentioned Crawford...I really don't know how i forgot!! Thanks for letting me know and thanks for the comment. I do think the Yankees struck out by missing on Cliff Lee, I am not yet ready to concede the season though. You never know what bone-headed team that needs money gives up some talent. Either way the Red Sox did WORK in the offseason. I do see them as the team to beat in not only the AL East, but the AL. I don't think the Yankees will be far behind, i do realize they got a little older but they're still the Yankees. I love the additions by the Red Sox, Crawford and Gonzales will def contribute! I will wait to pass judgement on the Gonzales-Texeria statement...
