NFL Week 2

Week 3 College Football

The Experience will Continue....

Several years ago the good people of Atlanta were fortunate enough to witness the Experience live on Sundays. The Experience went away and has now returned...as of today the good people of Philadephia found out that the Experience will now start!! Hide your wife, hide your kids Michael Vick is BACK!!! Vick was supposed to be the insurance for the young and supposedly extremely talented Mr. Kolb, due to Kolb's lack of awareness in the pocket and his in ability to recognize obvious blitzes he suffered a concussion in the first game of the season. He didn't recover in time to start Week 2 and now going into Week 3 Vick has been named the Eagles QB. Reid cited many reasons for his decision, none of which that gave Vick his due credit. However, Reid did say that he(Vick) "is playing out of his mind right now." Reid and the Eagles kicked McNabb out of Philadelphia, declared that Kolb was his heir, and now are saying Vick is their guy. What are they doing?? I personally don't think that Kolb is a bust, but he's also not ready to play yet. It's also wasn't right to tell him that it was his team, with out telling him that you (the Eagles) view Vick as more than just a "Wild Cat QB!!" Kolb was given a false sense of security, his back up in Vick is no ordinary back up. Kolb went from backing up a Pro Bowler in McNabb to having his job taken from him by one of the former faces of the League!! Instead of working on improving their offensive line as well as making the QB job an open competition, the Eagles have now made a mess of things for young Kolb. They should have been honest from the start, do you think the Eagles manged this situation correctly??
How do you think Vick will do as their starting QB? Who do you think is better, Vick or Kolb??

NFL Questions...

These are just a couple of things that have boggled my mind the first 2 weeks of the season:

What does Cowboys Offensive Coordinator have on the front office that allows him to retain his job??

With 3 talented running backs and a line that is very very very bad at pass blocking, why does Garrett continue to call 897 thousand passing plays??

Did the Cowboys really just draft Dez Bryant because they always wanted a 6'2 225 pound punt/kick returner??

Why did Minnesota set Brett Favre up by not telling him that his best reciever wasn't going to be available until after Favre signed?

Why does Brad Childress think that he's smarter than Brett Favre, and how does Childress still have his job??

If I told you that Darrelle Revis isn't the best corner on his team, what would you say??

Why do teams think playing prevent at the end of a game is "safe" even when they know it's a bad idea??

Has anyone noticed that the Buccaneers and the Chiefs are 2-0??

Why is Michael Vick officially back, and no team has asked to trade for his services??

How many Pro Bowl QB's does Andy Reid have to get rid of before he realizes that Kevin Kolb is terrible??

College Football Fans

To all those who are big College Football fans who are followers of the blog.... I will address College Football after the conclusion of that week. This week it's going to be Tuesday only because of Monday Night's game, for the remainder of the season I should be able to get something up by Sunday or Monday of that playing week. For example Week 2's posts will be up that Sunday right after the Saturday of playing. Week day games during the season, that will be determined.

Why Floyd??

Dear Mr. Mayweather,

Just want to start off by saying I'm on of the biggest Floyd Mayweather Jr. fans in the world......HOWEVER....I heard about his little rant that was posted on the internet, and than I watched it. I understand if that's how you feel and expressing yourself, but keep that between you and your boys. Most of the world doesn't like you and you're not helping the cause, you are one of the few "boxers" left in the sport. You should take a lesson from Michael Vick, they're not your boys if they are unable to use the words: no, don't do that, why WOULD you do that, that's a BAD idea!! You are now THE sole villan in a sport of sheer deceit, of all the things you have ever done up to this point....this WAS the worst by far and may now define your legacy or what was left of it. Instead of maybe going down as one of the best "boxers" not fighters, but boxers & due to this video it is all GONE!! I will still be an admirer of your God Given Gift, but I will no longer defend you the person and what you stand for after this. I do hope that you and Manny fight and I'm sure that you will win, but my heart will be heavy because even though I respect those that speak their minds, I can't respect those that don't know the TIME when and when not to. You are allowed to belive anything you want to belive, just don't post it on the internet!! You're a bright guy, but this is when one of the members of your entourage should have stopped you.

Did you see the video, and what did you think of it? Now that this has happened do you think this stunt will actually HELP this fight get done?? What do you think of Mayweather the boxer, not the person but the boxer??

Still Holding Out....

Preseason is officially over and the real thing is set to start on Thursday, will the Chargers and the Jets be starting their season with the 53 best players?? Probably not, because Vincent Jackson and Darrelle Revis don't look like they are going to be there without new contracts being in place. The Chargers look like they have accepted that Jackson will not be there by picking up Patrick Crayton from the Dallas Cowboys today for a 7th Round pick. The Chargers front office is at it again, almost every year they are up "that" creek with no paddle in negoatiations with their best players. Replacing LT with Ryan Matthews might have been a move they could have gotten away with, "IF" Jackson was in camp and ready to go. He's not and I don't how great a player Mr. Philip Rivers is, the Chargers are not going to replace Jackson's production and it will show. I don't know if I may have misread it or not but I thought I saw that Jackson was willing to sit out the first 10 games if he didn't get paid. Now to the other disgruntled employee in Mr. Revis. I really feel bad for him because he definitely out performed his contract, I KNOW that the Jets didn't expect this kid to be the best corner in the league when they drafted him. They lucked out and they are doing wrong by not admitting such and paying him!! The reason I feel worse is that unlike the Chargers, the Jets have an insurance policy and it's a very good one. Maybe some of you may have forgotten that Antonio Cromartie was going to be that guy after his outstanding year in 2007 when he burst on to the scene with 44 tackles, 18 passes defended, and 10 interceptions!! The reason you haven't heard his name in the past couple seasons was partly due to injury(to which he played through) and the Charger's defensive scheme, he's a man to man specialist, not someone you stick in zone coverage and that's what they did. Secondly, if Rex Ryan could make teams throw at the best corner in the league don't you think he can do the same thing by forcing teams to throw at Cromartie?? The only part of this that is troubling, is Cromarties issue with his hip. If it flares up or gets worse than they are going to lose leverage(the Jets) with Revis and will be at his mercy. So why not just pay Revis his money and have the BEST corner tandem in the NFL?? Who do yo think is in a worse situation, the Chargers or the Jets?? Who's worth more to their team, Jackson or Revis??

What a difference a year makes.....

78-84, that was the record the Cincinnati Reds posted last season. This year on September 2, 2010 the same Cincinnati Reds are 23 games over .500. At 78-55 the Reds are in first place in their division and are on their way to being a factor as to how this post season plays out!! That's not even the best part, the Reds have a player who is in contention to win the NL Triple Crown!! 1st Baseman Joey Votto is on a tear this season, Votto is 1st in RBI's, 2nd in Batting Average, and 3rd in Home Runs!! Bronson Arroyo and Johnny Cueto have done a good job this season with Arroyo going 14-8 and Cueto going 12-4, add rookie Mike Leake to those two with a record of 8-4 with 13 quality starts and the Reds have themselves a more than decent rotation. What makes these 3 so valuable is that they are inning eaters, so that takes pressure off your bull pen since the starters routinely give you 6-7 innings. The Reds are 5th as a team in the NL in the Saves category, last but not least they called up their young flamethrower in Aroldis Chapman. All Chapman does is throw heat, and I'm not talking about high 90's maybe flirting with 100. Chapman routinely hit's triple digits, yesterday against the Brewers he came in and got the win in an inning of relief work. What makes Chapman so dangerous is not only his high heat, but his disgusting slider. There was an at-bat when Chapman went 100, down to 86 with a slider, back up to 102, than finished it off with another filthy slider clocked at 89 mph. The Reds have their own version of Netali Feliz the young closer for the Rangers, Chapman will surely be a weapon for the Reds in the post season much like a couple years ago when the Rays brought David Price out of the bull pen. What do you think of the Reds turn around, is Joey Votto going to win the NL Triple Crown?? What do you think of Aroldis Chapman???
